Hitting – Clayton Butler (Central Mountain) ripped a 2 RBI double in the 6th inning to put his team up 6-1 Friday night at Showers Field in DuBois, PA. Visiting Greater Allegheny had DuBois held scoreless until the bats busted open in the 6th. Garrett Brown (DuBois) and Brandon Gettig (Bald Eagle) had 2 hits each to lead the team to a 6-2 win.
Pitching – Brandon Orsich (Clearfield) secured the win from the mound as he would go 6 innings, facing 25 batters, and giving up 1 run. Logan Johnson (Penns Valley) came in relief in the 7th to face 5 batters. Johnson threw only 20 pitches, but 13 of them strikes. Jake Sorbera came in the bottom of the 7th to secure the win with the last out of the game.
Hitting – DuBois first score of the night was off a triple from Butler that scored Vincent McDowell (West Branch) in the 2nd inning. McDowell ripped a double of his own, adding 2 hits from the DH spot.
Pitching – Austin Amacher (Ridgway) struck out 4 in 3 and a third innings of work for DuBois. Morgan Bell (Somerset) came in relief for 2 and 2/3 innings, giving up only 3 hits, and striking out 4. Bryce Hanley (Central Mountain) came in to close the game out with 1 inning of work, facing 4 batters.
