The DuBois women's basketball team took on Greater Allegheny this afternoon at the PAW Center in DuBois. The first meeting between these two teams ended in dramatic fashion as Greater Allegheny won in overtime. The Lady Lions were looking for revenge as they were able to play in front of their home crowd.
DuBois came out to with a fire as they took the first quarter with a dominating 24-3 run, and they never looked back. With balanced scoring throughout the team, Shannon Shaw and Natalie Bowser led the team with 16 points each. Tara Leamer pulled down 11 big rebounds and Frances Milliron added 4 steals as DuBois defeated Greater Allegheny, 74-39.
This win brings DuBois to within 2 games of fourth place in the East Division of the PSUAC with a 6-8 record in the PSUAC and an 8-9 record overall. The Lady Lions will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Beaver for a 6:00 pm tipoff.
