Lady Lions fall to Jamestown CC in OT thriller
Saturday, November 1, marked the season opener for the Lady Lions as they hosted the Jayhawks. With the final score of: Jamestown CC 86, Penn State DuBois 82 in the overtime thriller
From the tip-off the game was tense, with momentum swinging both ways and neither team willing to give ground. The Lady Lions displayed early signs of life—moving the ball, getting into lanes, and converting key opportunities. But the Jayhawks kept answering, making plays on both ends of the floor. In regulation, the Lady Lions showed resilience when Jamestown made runs, Penn State DuBois answered with hustle plays, timely baskets and a few great runs of their own with most of their points coming from in the paint by Natalie Bowser, and Elizabeth Hungiville. The two of them accounted for 45 of DuBois 82 points in the game, and also had 32 of their 55 boards off the glass. Frances Milliron had a very respectable 15 points, 8 assists, and 8 rebounds herself, nearing a triple double before having to foul out late in OT to give the lady lions their last chance.
The Ladies hit the road this weekend Saturday, Nov. 8th as they travel to Villa Maria in what should be another good test for their team.
